FTC really opened my eyes to how we can have a positive impact in our community throughout the year. Because we visited the postal services buildings, I got a better idea on how we can make work life a little bit easier. Something as simple as waiting for the mailman outside with a chilled Gatorade on those hot summer months can go a long way in encouraging them in their duties.
In visiting the assisted living facilities, I learned that the game of Bingo is played every week and it’s a great way to chit-chat with the residents. In visiting the first responders of our city, I learned that they’re always up for snacks! The way their monies for food is divided up between them, maybe it’d be a great idea to cater lunch for them now and then. I see SO MUCH opportunity now because of my family’s involvement with For the City that I just didn’t see before. So so thankful for having an idea of how we can be a practical blessing to the public servants of our community and to the elderly.
For the City afforded me a wonderful way to include my children in ministering to the citizens of our community and I am looking forward to partnering again next year!
Until then, my children and I know exactly how we can do little things all year round to encourage and serve others.
