Bringing Churches Together

FTC is a movement of God’s churches, seeking to be His hands and His feet of Greenville. FTC appreciates all of the local civic and governmental organizations who have very similar goals as For the City. But we choose to stand independent of them in hopes that our community and those we serve will see Christ clearly.

In the same spirit found in Jeremiah 29:7, where it says this, “But seek the welfare of the city where I have sent you into exile, and pray to the Lord on its behalf, for in its welfare you will find your welfare.”, For the City is uniquely church driven, church funded, and church staffed.

FTC was birthed with ministry in mind, to be a proactive, inclusive partnership of Greenville’s local churches to meet needs in our hometown. We call it our hometown mission, where you can serve in many of the same ways you might travel outside the country to serve. It’s just closer, cheaper and you’ll live in community with those to whom you minister. And maybe, just maybe, begin a friendship.

By bringing churches together, FTC hopes to:

Seek & pray for the welfare of our city
Bring honor & glory to God and His church
Share the love of Jesus Christ
Provide an opportunity for local churches to work together
Promote genuine racial, ethnic, and social harmony
